What does Autobritt do to protect your personal data?

Keen to protect the privacy of its customers, Autobritt takes all appropriate measures to comply with the Federal Data Protection Act (FADP) and the corresponding Ordinance (FADPO) and, where applicable, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data is collected and when?

Autobritt collects some of your personal data, mainly in the context of our business relationships, such as:

  • Purchasing your vehicle, New Pre Owned
  • Visits to the workshop for services, repairs, bodywork, and accessory purchases
  • Your participation in satisfaction surveys for the brands we represent, as well as surveys conducted to improve our service.

We only collect data that is necessary for the proper functioning of our business relationship, namely:

  • First and last name
  • Date of birth
  • The mailing address
  • The email address
  • Mobile and landline phone numbers
  • Bank references when required in connection with a leasing application and/or a refund in your favor.

Other data that may be collected for more specific purposes will be explicitly stated in clear notices at the time of collection.

When you visit our website www.autobritt.ch, we temporarily store:

  • The IP address of the requesting computer
  • The date and time of access
  • The website from which our domain was accessed
  • The website from which our domain was accessed
  • The operating system of your computer and the browser you use,
  • The country from which our website is accessed
  • The name of your Internet service provider.

This data is generally collected and processed anonymously without personal reference in order to enable use of the website (establishment of the connection), to ensure the long-term security and stability of the system, to optimize the website offering, and for statistical purposes. The aforementioned information is not linked to personal data nor stored with it.

Why do we collect your personal data?

Your personal data is used within the framework of our contractual and commercial relationship:

  • For customer account management by Autobritt, in order to contact you regarding periodic services and manufacturer recalls.
  • For customer account management by the brands we represent, including warranty management and monitoring the life of your vehicle.
  • For commercial prospecting by sending our newsletters, offers, promotions, and invitations to events.

Autobritt undertakes not to use your personal data for purposes other than those set out in this policy, and not to disclose it to third parties other than those mentioned above.

Within the strict framework of the stated purposes, the recipients of your data are Autobritt staff, importers, and the manufacturers of the brands we represent.

In the event that Autobritt uses a subcontractor for work or services on your vehicle, Autobritt will ensure that the subcontractor provides sufficient guarantees to protect your rights.

How long do you keep your personal data?

The retention period for your personal data corresponds to the duration of our business relationship with you, from prospecting to sale, as well as throughout the period during which you use our after-sales service.

It may be continued for a limited number of purposes such as billing cycles, compliance with legal, tax, and/or contractual requirements, including in the event of an internal audit.

Why do we use cookies and tracking tools?
